Daytime Retreat

Our Daytime Retreat is a unique, small group daycare for dogs. This service provides pet owners with a safe, fun, stimulating environment for their dog to play off-leash with other dogs under the careful supervision of our trained staff. This new state-of-the-art facility offers The Animal Planet viewing on two large LCD televisions, satellite music, special flooring that is soft on paws and joints, plenty of toys, and raised beds (Kuranda Beds) for naptime.

During the day, your pet will enjoy socializing with other dogs, playtime in our outside playgrounds, and the chance for a snooze if he wishes. Fresh water is always available. Treats and meals can be provided. Your pet will look forward to his visit in our Daytime Retreat!

Our Daytime Retreat is perfect for the pet who spends time alone during the day while you're at work. In a clean and safe environment, he will be playing and getting the attention he deserves. (Instead of chewing on the living room furniture!). Drop him off on the way to work and pick him up on the way home, we guarantee he'll LOVE it. You'll appreciate a new peace of mind knowing your pet isn't home alone and bored during the day. Furthermore, our Daytime Retreat dogs are worn out, tired, and sleepy at the end of the day which you'll LOVE. A tired dog is a good dog!

Daytime Retreat is also a nice chance to get what is sometimes a much needed "break" from our very active canine friends. So, give yourself a day off and let them wear us out for a change!

Evaluation Structure for Daytime Retreat

For the safety of all Daytime Retreat participants, each pet must pass a daycare evaluation. The evaluations are by appointment on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday and take about an hour. If your evaluation is early on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday and your pet is accepted, he may participate in Daytime Retreat that same day, and the first visit is always free.

Your pet will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• How does he play with other pets?
• Does he growl at other pets or people?
• Does he bite other pets or people?
• How does he react towards strangers?
• How does he react to other pets?
• Is he possessive of any toys, food, or objects?
• When does he get anxious, fearful, or frightened?
• Has he had any experience at another daycare or dog park? If so, how did he do?
• Does he exhibit any of the following behaviors: mouths, jumps on people, jumps on fencing, barks, howls, is shy or timid, gets easily excited, cowers, has submissive urination, digs or chews?

Daytime Retreat Passes

The Animal Den offers temporary babysitting for your pet in either our standard dens or in our deluxe suites. For an hourly fee, we will care for your pet until you pick him up. Daycare is perfect for those days when you have activities scheduled at your home where your pet may feel uncomfortable or his safety may be an issue. Such events may include having your carpets cleaned, a child's birthday party, a cookout with people that your pet is not familiar with, or home remodeling. Whatever the reason, this daycare service will offer one less thing for you to worry about while you know your pet will be safe and comfortable until you are ready for him back home.

Personalized services such as private playground time, a nature trail hike, and bathing or grooming are always available to our Daytime Retreat and Doggie Daycare participants. Just ask for these great services when you reserve your dog's day at The Animal Den!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Indiana law now requires written permission for the release of your pets shot records. Please take a moment to double check that you have already provided them to us or have them packed with your pets belongings before checking in. Written release forms will be made available upon request at check in if needed

All enrolled pets must have proof of current vaccinations within the previous twelve months against: Distemper Hepatitis Parvovirus Parainfluenza Bordetella Rabies All recent vaccinations must have been administered at least ten (10) days prior to daycare. All dogs must be spayed or neutered, may not have any physical restrictions, and be on a flea preventative.
